IS MY BODY A TEMPLE OR A SHACK?

Got your attention? Stay with me!

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

temple: a synagogue or holy place of worship

shack: a roughly built hut or cabin.

Since our physical body is the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit, we must do the right thing by it. We can’t just eat healthy and not exercise. We can’t just exercise and put whatever we like in our bodies. We can’t just eat healthy, exercise, and neglect the spirit man. No, we have to perform it all. When the body is healthy, we don’t have to waste energy worrying about it and lose sight of Jesus. In other words, keeping our temples healthy allows the spirit to soar, and we can continue being who God has called us to be. Let us stop allowing Satan to make nasty deposits in us and sabotaging where God wants to take us by making us slaves within our bodies. WE MUST STOP THE ENEMY FROM TURNING OUR BODIES INTO SHACKS FULL OF LIES AND DECEIT!

If maintaining our temples is a problem, let us lay this issue at the feet of Jesus. He can help us get healthy. There’s no need to be bigger than we have to be. Weight is an obstacle! We can't believe the devils lies! We must discipline our flesh! An undisciplined body holds us back. Nonetheless, there is another side of the coin where people are starving themselves. That’s not good either. Don’t abuse the body… period. An unhealthy body is a workshop for the enemy because He knows that our guard is down. Therefore, he wiggles in and deposits self-esteem issues, image problems, and many other spiritually detrimental lies. If we are bigger than we need to be and/or unhealthy in our present state. Decree with me: I will not remain in my present state in Jesus' name.

We don’t have to kill ourselves being somebody that God didn’t create us to be. Just be healthy! We must strive daily to eat healthy, eating everything in moderation, and getting exercise. However, if we seek God on this issue, he will enlighten us and show us where to begin improving.
Don’t get me wrong—God designed us to be different shapes and sizes. I’m not saying don’t be who God created us to be. I am saying to you with your beautifully designed self, ‘be healthy’. God created us uniquely, and we are His. We will look differently, act differently, but we share the same designer. Just because we are God’s beautiful design, we are not given a pass to unhealthy living. I challenge you to seek God with your all and watch Him work in what we see.
